Here are a few pictures I took of my friends Mailin and Dirk and their daughter Kiara. They are about to welcome their second child into the world and Kiara is pretty excited about being a big sister. You might remember this beautiful family from a session we did almost two years ago now. I can’t believe how fast time goes. Congratulations guys! I can’t wait to meet the newest addition to your family!
I love this time of year. The additional hours of sunshine really help float my boat. I feel a renewed pep in my step. I’m also pretty excited about my upcoming travel schedule. I thought I would share it with you in case we happen to be in the same spot at the same time and you want to make some purdy pictures. Next week I head off to Costa Rica. I have the absolute honour of photographing an incredible yoga and surf trip with iRetreat. Stay tuned for pictures. We will be pretty isolated in the remote area of Carate Beach but if you happen to find yourself there let me know (in advance, not sure about technology access). I will however be in Costa Rica’s capital, San José, April 17 & 18. I’m home for a bit and then off to Ottawa May 6-8 for Christina and Michael’s wedding. I’m so excited to work with them again! And finally (for now) May 17-24 I will be in Vancouver. Give me a shout if you want to hang out. Here is a picture of Neko. She doesn’t like it when I travel!

Sophie is so lovely. Not only is she gorgeous, but she is an incredibly talented jazz singer. When we met for her portrait session a few weeks ago I had not yet heard her sing. After we finished she gave me a copy of her CD. The next day I put it on and I was blown away. She has giant voice that flows like ice cream down your arm on a hot day. I strongly recommend you check out the sumptuous sounds of Sophie Berkal-Sarbit!
