Here is Tara on Saturday, just about ready to see her future husband on their wedding day for the first time. All dressed up and ready to go. The anticipation, the excitement, the waiting. The moment before the moment she has been waiting for. I love this moment.
A few weeks ago I met up with Chiara and Chris at Toronto’s Harbourfront. I have known these two gorgeous people for years and I feel so lucky to have had the chance to document this very special time in their lives. Chiara and Chris are from Italy but have called Toronto home for the past few years. In June, Mike and I are traveling to Italy for a wedding I’m shooting. It just so happens that Chiara and the new baby will also be there. I’m so excited to meet some of her family and catch a glimpse of her beautiful country through her eyes. The local experience is always the best! Stay tuned for pictures from Italy. Also, if you are reading this and you are in Italy or going to be in Italy in June please drop me a line. It was a beautiful sunny day down by the water in Ajax. The water was blue and there were puffy white clouds floating overhead. From my car it looked almost like summer, except for the obvious lack of foliage. I spotted Tara and Barry in the car next to mine and hopped out. I was nearly blown over by the wind. My warm summer thoughts were quickly quenched. This was my first visit to Veterans’ Point Gardens in Ajax. Grand sweeping views of the lake and even a miniature downtown Toronto off in the distance. It was really great to get to know these two. We discussed details of their upcoming wedding, we joked around, and Tara turned into a Popsicle. All in all good times. Tara and Barry, I can’t wait for your wedding! It’s so close now!
On Monday, I spent the day with my favourite yoga family. I have been practicing with Jonny and Juliana for years now and have also had the chance to photograph Jonny’s practice before. Early Monday morning, I let myself in and attempted to be the best fly on the wall I could as they went about their daily activities. These two are amazing. I have learned so much from them, both on and off the yoga mat. Watching them as partners and now as parents is truly inspiring. There are many more pictures to come but I just couldn’t wait to share a few teasers from our day together. They have worked out a pretty brilliant set up for their morning Ashtanga practice. Naomi was happy as a clam, grooving away to her favourite music bouncing in her jumper.
