I can’t believe January is almost over. So far I’m having fun in 2012 with lots of exciting weddings and projects on the agenda. Joelle & Damian | Insel Ufenau Zurich Wedding

In September, I traveled with Mike and our friend Heiko to Zürich for Joëlle & Damian’s wedding. Heiko is Damian’s brother. When Heiko told us that his brother got engaged I told him to tell his brother and fiancée what I do for a living. I meant it half as a joke, never expecting that nine months later I would be on a plane to shoot a wedding in Switzerland!

Joëlle & Damian’s wedding was a total dream. The ceremony took place in a church on a tiny island (Insel Ufenau) in the middle of Lake Zürich. St. Peter & Paul church was built in 1141/42 and sits beside a small vineyard from which we drank the wine. The day started by boarding the ferry you see below. A view back at Rapperswil where we boarded the boat.Our first peek at the church. Their ceremony was one of the most beautiful and emotionally charged that I have had the pleasure of witnessing. The entire ceremony, except for a few songs beautifully performed by Reto von Wartburg, was in Swiss German and I didn’t understand more than a few words. That being said, the love they have for each other was palpable and no words were required to understand this. What can I say, I love ungulates!In Swiss weddings, it is tradition for the maid of honour and the best man to plan a number of games and surprises for the happy couple. Lea and Daniel went all out and organized Dani from Luftbild Drohne to come and take some amazing aerial shots.Here is one of the aerial shots from Luftbild Drohne.

The next thing in their bag of tricks was for Joëlle & Damian to cut out a giant heart using tiny nail scissors. Once done they both had to hop through the heart to the other side. Lea and Daniel weren’t the only ones with surprises in store for the happy couple. Joëlle’s dad surprised them with a vintage car to ride in to the reception. Zehra & Mustafa | Old Mill Toronto Wedding

From our first meeting, I fell in love with these two. Their kindness and their love for each other is contagious. Last April we got to know each other a little better when I caught up with them in New York City’s Central Park for their engagement session. We had such a great time. Their Mehendi and Wedding were no different. They have the warmest group of family and friends. Fun and love from start to finish.Zehra & Mustafa, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Gail & Alex | Treadwell St. Catharines Wedding

Gail from St. Catharines and Alex from Vancouver had to move all the way to London, UK to meet and fall in love. After living across the pond for several years, they recently moved back to Canada to start their married life together in Toronto. I had the good fortune to be introduced to this amazing couple through a mutual friend. We hit it off immediately and I had such a great time photographing their wedding. We met up before the ceremony to take pictures and wander around the streets of downtown St. Catharines. It was a very hot day. Just the day before, Toronto came extremely close to breaking its all time hottest temperature record of 38.3°C (101°F). Despite the heat, Gail and Alex looked cool and fabulous. The reception was at Treadwell in Port Dalhousie. Treadwell has been a pioneer in the locavore movement. They highlight food and wine from the Niagara region and oh my goodness it was incredible! I have been thinking about our meal there ever since and making this blog post I can feel my mouth water. I can’t wait to go back. Thank you so much for having me document your wedding day. Anne & Sean | Dyment Farm Dundas Wedding

I don’t even know where to start with this wedding. First of all, Anne and Sean are two of the nicest people ever and they are so much fun to work with. In addition, all of the details for this wedding were so pretty and well coordinated. Anne and Sean wanted a farm wedding and you can quickly see why they picked the Dyment Farm. I love the wide array of scenery from dilapidated barns to wide open fields to treed areas with just the right amount of late afternoon sunlight trickling in. Anne and Sean opted for a First Look. There is something about seeing each other before the ceremony and getting the majority of the pictures out of the way that just makes everyone more relaxed and makes the day flow a little more smoothly. Well traveled rings. These gorgeous handmade rings came all the way from Greece, twice. During the postal strike they were sent back before eventually making their way to their happy owners. The dinning area was to die for. Look at how beautiful the tables look. Anne and Sean and their family and friends really went all out with the amazing decor. There were even supplies for s’mores!

Tracy & Dave | Bob Rumball Manor Wedding

I’m so excited and pumped for tomorrow’s wedding. I just got back from a whirlwind 10 day trip to Reykjavik, London, Zürich, and Basel and I am feeling very inspired. Stay tuned for pictures from the wedding in Zürich and some of my personal travel pics too. But before that I have another super fantastic wedding to share with you.

Tracy and Dave got married at a church in Mississauga and followed it up with a gorgeous outdoor reception at the Bob Rumball Manor. Tracy has got to be one of the smiley-ist people I have ever met. Her ear to ear grin was such a delight and both her and Dave’s joy was evident throughout the day.
