Sophie is so lovely. Not only is she gorgeous, but she is an incredibly talented jazz singer. When we met for her portrait session a few weeks ago I had not yet heard her sing. After we finished she gave me a copy of her CD. The next day I put it on and I was blown away. She has giant voice that flows like ice cream down your arm on a hot day. I strongly recommend you check out the sumptuous sounds of Sophie Berkal-Sarbit!
The only thing I regret is not asking Sophie to sing while taking her headshot. I totally missed an opportunity for a free concert

She simply has the cutest look! The one where she’s looking straight at the camera and wearing the green shirt is my favourite. Amazing colour and just wow!
Jacqueline Baker is one cool lady and I’m honored to call her a friend. She has a contagious laugh, a beautiful smile, and the warmest of hearts. When I was home in Vancouver we went down to the Seawall for a little portrait session.
Jackie and I have a number of things in common but one that makes us really lucky is that we both are truly passionate about our job. No, Jackie is not a photographer, she is a mortgage broker. Perhaps not a vocation that people immediately associate with passion, but I’ve seen her in action and it’s for real! She also thinks I’m funny. It’s true, see below!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of hanging out with Jade, Shantel, and Melissa of Lovelee Affairs. They were in need of some fresh headshots and I’m so happy they asked me. These ladies are so much fun and full of all sorts of ideas!
Lovelee Affairs is a boutique event and wedding planning firm offering services in Toronto, Atlanta, and any other destination your heart desires. The company was started in Atlanta, Georgia in November 2008 by Toronto-born Jade Lee and expanded North to Toronto in February. They vow to be different by giving each client a unique and tailored experience.
They have created some truly fabulous weddings. I look forward to see what they come up with next!

These ladies are talented beauties!!
One of the things I enjoy most is yoga. It is part of my daily routine (…er, well, almost) and is, in part, responsible for my sanity. So I’m sure you can imagine that I was elated when Jonny Belinko, one of my favourite instructors, asked me to shoot some pictures of him practicing yoga for his new Yoga Instructional DVD, based on Shri. K. Pattabhi Jois’ Primary Ashtanga Series. Jonny is a natural teacher and you can’t help get sucked into loving him and his classes. Jonny teaches at many studios around Toronto including my favourite, Iam Yoga.
Before we started the shoot we went for coffee. Jonny starts each morning off with a cup of espresso. We went to Manic Coffee on College Street, one of the best coffee shops in Toronto.
I don’t know how many people sit at Manic Coffee like this! Jonny always drinks his espresso with one leg behind his head. He says it tastes better
I love this one!
Once we were well caffeinated it was on to yoga.
I often sit like this. In fact I’m sitting like this right now… as I type!
I’m a pro at this next one!
